but…i need pastry flour :(
After having Jacques Torres’ famous chocolate cookies in Brooklyn, I’ve been itching to try out the recipe. Armed with a huge craving for layers of chewy cookie and melty chocolate, I searched up the recipe. A few clicks and a pantry check later, I discovered that I needed pastry flour and good quality chocolate. I also found that pastry flour can be found at specialty grocery stores like Whole Foods. Similarly, the Valrhona or Guittard chocolate I wanted could be found there as well.
Unfortunately for me, the nearest Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s is at least 20-25 min away from my house. I’m thinking that it’s not worth the drive and that I should just order the cookie mix online. WTF, East Side :(.
