Some of my family from this weekend. It’s amazing how much all of these people have been through yet how being together brings us so much joy. When I think about some of the things that members of my family have experienced and done it seems like its really fucked up. But you’d never know from this picture. Several of these people have witnessed murder, been threatened with guns, and almost starved to death during the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia. Others have dealt with or are dealing with abuse, drugs, the law, depression, divorce, chronic illnesses and countless other things.
There’s a lot of pain in this family but a lot of love, too.
